We do love a summer wedding! Sunny days and long balmy evenings make summer a super popular time for getting married, and we’re looking forward to adding a touch of sparkle to lots of events this June, July and August! One thing that we really enjoy is seeing how creative our brides and grooms are when they come to adding the finishing touches to their big day – we always keep up to date with the latest trends to its great to see them put into practice in real life!
So what are our predictions for summer wedding trends in 2016? Read on to find out what we think is going to be hot, hot, hot this season…
Whilst we never say no to a slice of cake we’ve seen lots of brides and grooms putting their own unique take on their cake. The traditional heavy fruit cake is out and light deserts are in – which means towers of gorgeous pastel macarons in a variety of flavours, or a cascade of pretty strawberry topped cupcakes. As well as looking amazing these creations look fabulous and are always a hit with guests. We’ve also seen some weddings where the happy couple dispense with cake altogether and go for a three tiers of tasty cheese as a savoury after dinner treat!
Giant Letter Lights
Giant letter lights have been really popular for a couple of years now and they look set to be big this year summer too – literally and metaphorically! It’s easy to see why our giant illuminated letters are so in demand for summer weddings. Letter lights can create any name or word that you like. You could choose yours and your partner’s initials or the word LOVE. They can even be used outside so are perfect for a sunny summer’s day and they will light up the sky as you party on into the night!
As people want to make the most of the good weather they are heading outside to get wed in the great outdoors! Relaxed, natural settings are really popular this year and of course they make for some fantastic photos too. Some couples are choosing a pretty woodland setting and others want the drama of a beach ceremony by the sea – there’s so much to choose from
Simple and chic is the key theme for wedding dresses this summer. Big meringue style dresses are nowhere to be seen and instead a slim-line silhouette shape is becoming a really popular options. We are also seeing a move away from traditional white dresses as brides choose soft pastel colours such as baby blue or peach. It’s lovely to see how many stunning styles there are available for our brides this summer.
So, as you can see there are some great ideas around if you are having a wedding in summer 2016. Remember to keep it really unique and personal and it’s adding those special touches that really make it an occasion to remember for both you and your guests!
