Your’re Engaged…so now what happens!

ringIf you are one of the happy brides to be who had a surprise proposal over the festive season, you are no doubt feeling excited, nervous and maybe a little bit stressed! Once you’ve finished showing off your bling and made sure that all your friends and family know your happy news the reality of planning a wedding can be a slightly daunting and with so much to do it’s hard to know where to start!

At Wedding Letter Hire, we’re used to working with couples to make sure that their big day shines so here are our top tips for planning perfection!

Get organised

Now you’ve got a wedding to plan it’s time to get organised. You’ll soon get used to working at a level of military precision to make sure that your big day goes perfectly! There are some lovely planning guides and folders that you can buy and it’s well worth investing in one of these to help keep all of your paperwork together. Create separate sections in your folder for all the different elements of your wedding so that you can keep on top of your planning. You’ll be sending lots of emails too so make sure that you don’t get bombarded at work by setting up your own wedding email address – this is also really useful for when the RSVPs start coming in too!

Find a venue and book a date!

Popular venues can get booked up months or even years in advance so finding your venue and getting your date booked should be a priority. There’s never been more choice when it comes to event venues so whatever your theme there’s bound to be something you like. Be prepared to be flexible with your date as sometimes booking outside of traditional seasons means that you can get the venue that you want at a more reasonable price!

When you’ve booked your date don’t forget to send out your “save the date” cards. Some couples like to be really innovative with these and we’ve seen “save the date” calendars, fridge magnets and helium balloons!

Consider using a wedding planner

With today’s busy lifestyles you may want a little bit of extra help with your planning and lots of couples decide to go with a wedding planner.  Many planners have great contacts within the industry and will have the inside news on the latest venues and the best local suppliers. You can choose the level of help you need – you may want your day planned from start to finish or you may just need someone to help you with the final touches in the last few weeks before your big day

Make the day unique

Your big day should be as individual as you are and you will want it to reflect both yours and your partner’s personalities. Brides are often looking for that unique touch that will really set their wedding apart from the rest and our giant illuminated letters are the perfect centrepiece for a sparkling day! Our light up signs can spell out any word that you want but initials or the word LOVE are really popular and they really will make a day to remember!
